Halloween thriller as magic Rovers treat home crowd to terrifying 10-0 victory

Crookham Rovers U23s haunted Wey Valley with a frighteningly good performance, delivering a spine-chilling 10-0 win at home that secured their third win in as many games.

From the kick-off, Crookham showed relentless spirit, with Ibrahim Yetik setting the pace when he buried an opening goal — the first of a hat-trick, his debut for the club.

Quick to follow, Zach Hansell delivered a wicked strike of his own, before Yetik doubled his tally. Then, Kyle Duffin tricked his way through the defence to score, capping off a bewitching first half at 4-0.

After the break, Crookham continued to terrorize their opponents, with Yetik grabbing his third to complete a hat-trick.

Harry Barber, Aidan Gardner, and Louis Mattravers each conjured up magical goals, before Duffin and Mattravers struck again, rounding off a spellbinding victory.

The highlight was Rovers' ninth goal, started at the back, followed by  a series of devilish, one-touch passes, through midfield and down the right-hand side of the pitch, before an inch-perfect cross found Duffin ghosting in at the far post to tap it in.

Calum Walsh, making his debut in goal, was a towering presence for the whole game, keeping Crookham’s first clean sheet of the season.

Tony Barnes, Jamie Lavender, Cameron Corlett, Mikey Gyuzelev, and Harry Leggett held down the backline with unbreakable resolve, while midfielders Kyle Duffin, Jake Bailey, Louis Mattravers, Luke Gorton, and Harry Barber kept Crookham’s spell over Wey Valley alive by orchestrating play and setting up attacks. Jason West and Aidan Gardner further disrupted Wey Valley’s attempts to break free, allowing Crookham to push forward with ease.

Crookham Rovers manager Andrew Barber praised the squad's performance, saying, “The lads were outstanding today. From Calum’s rock-solid debut in goal to the relentless work in midfield and the clinical finishing, it was a hauntingly good team effort.”

This emphatic win rounds off an October full of treats for Crookham Rovers U23s, who have now won three from three, scoring 21 goals while conceding just three, creeping up the table and casting an ominous shadow over the league.
