Crookham Rovers U23s power into Eric Perrin Salver final with emphatic second-half display

Crookham Rovers U23s produced a dominant second-half performance to book their place in the Eric Perrin Salver final with a 4–0 away win at Alton Tornadoes.

After a goalless first half, Rovers' superior fitness and control began to show after the break. Tony Barnes opened the scoring shortly after the restart, before Zach Hansell doubled the lead with a composed finish.

Harry Barber added a third with a flowing, patient team move that started deep in Rovers' own half — a goal fans can relive via the video clip included in this report. The scoring was rounded off in style when Kyle Duffin unleashed a superb half-volley from outside the box to seal a commanding victory.

The win sets up a final clash against Simply Soccer Spartans on Thursday, 8 May at Fleet Town’s ground in Fleet, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45 pm.

Speaking after the match, Rovers coach Andrew Barber praised his side’s performance: “We were confident that our fitness and team shape would pay off, and that’s exactly what happened in the second half. It was a dominant display, and I’m proud of the way the lads executed the game plan. We’re all looking forward to the final now — it’s a great reward for their hard work this season.”
